Why a Kia PV5

We spent months trying to figure out what kind of family car to buy, and then weeks waiting for the delivery day. We wanted something safe, practical, comfortable for long trips, and big enough for all the adventures that come with family life.

Now we are converting it into a fully capable family camper van, and travelling and sleeping in it with our young children across Europe.

Martin

He is the one who usually sits behind the wheel – unless there's a camera in his hands. He drives, films our adventures, flies the drone and somehow ends up carrying half of the gear wherever we go. He's also the one behind the editing, YouTube and Instagram, turning all the footage into the videos and posts you see on Electric Van Fam. He also loves turning the PV5 into whatever the next adventure requires – a camper, a filming studio, a test lab or sometimes all three at once. And in between driving, filming, editing and everything else, he's a proud dad of two, a husband and the guy who probably spends way too much time thinking about EVs.

Bára

She is the one who makes our trips happen. She plans where we go, finds interesting places, works out the routes and always has another idea for what we could do along the way. She's also a packing expert – somehow managing to fit everything a family of four could possibly need into the van. She's the creative one too, coming up with our graphics, stickers and plenty of the ideas behind Electric Van Fam – including the name itself. And somewhere between planning, packing and creating, she's a great mum to our two little ones, a thoughtful wife and a great dog mum.
